Ingredients
  

  • 2 tablespoons chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon ground cumin
  • 1 tablespoon smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • ½ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon sea salt
  • ¼ teaspoon cayenne pepper optional, for heat

Instructions
 

  • Measure out all the spices and gather them in a small mixing bowl.
  • Mix the chili powder, cumin, smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, dried oregano, sea salt, black pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using) until well combined.
  • Transfer the seasoning blend into an airtight container or spice jar.
  • Label the jar with the name and date. Store in a cool, dry place for up to 6 months.

Notes

Customize your seasoning by adding crushed red pepper flakes or swapping smoked paprika with sweet paprika for a different flavor profile. Use 1 to 2 tablespoons per pound of chicken. Great on grilled, shredded, or sautéed chicken.
