- 1 lb ground turkey 93% lean or higher
- 1 large egg
- 2 tbsp breadcrumbs or gluten-free substitute
- 1 tsp salt
- ½ tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs parsley, cilantro, or chives
- ¼ cup minced onion (Optionnal)
- 1 clove minced garlic (Optionnal)
- 4 small cubes of cheese like mozzarella or cheddar (Optionnal)
- ½ tsp paprika (Optionnal)
- 1 tsp lemon zest (Optionnal)
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1 lb ground turkey, 1 large egg, 2 tbsp breadcrumbs, 1 tsp salt, ½ tsp black pepper, 1 tsp garlic powder, ¼ cup minced onion, 1 clove minced garlic, and 2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat, keeping the patties tender.
Divide the mixture into 4 equal portions. Shape each portion into a patty about ½-inch thick. If using cheese, place a small cube in the center of each patty and fold the turkey mixture around it to seal.
Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C) for 3–5 minutes.
Lightly spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray or line it with parchment paper designed for air fryers. Place the patties in a single layer in the basket, ensuring they don’t overlap. Cook for 12–15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the internal temperature reaches 165°F (74°C).
Remove the patties from the air fryer and let them rest for 2–3 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute, ensuring a juicy and flavorful result.
Serve the turkey patties on buns with your favorite toppings or over a salad for a low-carb option.
- For a gluten-free version, use gluten-free breadcrumbs or almond flour.
- Avoid overmixing the turkey mixture to keep the patties tender.
- Store cooked patties in an airtight container in the fridge for 3–4 days or freeze raw patties for up to 3 months.
- Reheat in the air fryer at 350°F (175°C) for 3–5 minutes.
- Serve on buns or wrapped in lettuce for a low-carb option.
